Clothing - What to wear in Cape Verde

There is no strict dress code in Cape Verde, so people dress freely. Cape Verde's clothing style is very casual, influenced mainly by Western trends.

In everyday life, women tend to wear light blouses and jeans. Skirts and dresses are also common, especially among adult women. Men tend to wear jeans and T-shirts for casual situations, and pants and collared shirts for formal or less casual situations. 

To go to the beach, Cape Verdean men mostly wear swimming trunks, but some opt for bathing suits. Cape Verdean women usually wear bikinis, with some also opting for swimsuits.
